Go Speed Racer ... Go!

Look out ... she is now moving on FOUR wheels! She loved driving but never even tried to master "steering". She just drove forward and into everything. It was precious.

My New Kitchen Floor!

I got my new kitchen floor today. Audrey is inspecting it (or atleast the cookie I placed on it to get this picture). I am so happy to have a floor that looks clean and doesn't make creaky noises when you walk on it. Isn't it pretty? My kitchen is probably the prettiest room in my house now. Thanks to Lowe's!

Big Girl Bed

It's probably long overdue (@ 27 months old) but we finally converted Audrey's crib to a toddler bed on Saturday and she LOVES it! She slept so good in it all weekend, too. Today's photo (at left) is in honor of the family dog "Traci" because she has been visiting Nana's house for a few days while we get a new kitchen floor installed (YEAH) and Audrey sure has missed her. She asks everyday where she is and even woke up this morning asking if "Taci" (as she pronounces it) was home? Aren't they a cute pair!

Daddy's Girl?

I am proud to share this photo. I know Daddy gets his feelings hurt sometimes
because Audrey is typically such a Momma's Girl. So he is overdue this moment with her.
They were enjoying time together at a birthday party over the weekend.
Audrey was invited to a "Dinosaur Party" and she LOVED it!
There was a dinosaur cake, dinosaur sippy cups, and take-home
dinosaurs & binoculars. It was so much fun for her
(and the 16 other kids at the party!)
I was very proud of her behavior at the party, as well.
She was very calm and polite. It gives me confidence that
we are raising the kind of child we wanted to. Now ...
if we could just accomplish POTTY TRAINING!

Hair I am ...

Look at all this hair! It is quite unmanageable but I am so happy to see it. I wish she would let me brush it and style it though. She does go to the beauty shop with her Meemaw on most Friday mornings but that's her job. She takes the appointments and greets ladies at the door! (I'm still waiting for her 1st paycheck. I suspect she has spent it on hashbrowns or parfaits from McD's!)

Happy 2006!

<-- Just to prove that not all photos taken of my child are while she is eating ... exhibit A shown at left Aunt Nana! :)

Well it's a new year and many people are making resolutions. And it seems that TV and print ads expect our resolutions to include losing weight and working out. But mine is altogether different this year. I have resolved to do a scrapbook page every day of this calendar year.

I have completed one each day thus far (4 pages) and it is so much fun. I work in bed after Audrey goes to sleep ... which wasn't until 9:15 pm last night so I am regretting staying up later than usual this morning (as I funnel coffee.) It is very relaxing and rewarding for me. I love the hobby. But to me it is more than just a hobby. It is therapy, it is history, and it is emotional.

Sis and I spent last Friday scrappin' all day at the Chocolate Scrapbook and I completed an entire album of Audrey's 2nd birthday party (10/21/05). That makes my 7th album about Audrey. I have completed 1 of my new niece, 3 as gifts for family members and 3 of my pre-parenting life. It makes me so happy that Audrey will have these all of her life to know me even after I am gone.

So what better resolution could I make than to document life for my legacy.
